Black Americans in the Face of Coronavirus

This country refuses—including Black people—to understand that Black people in this country are existing with unaddressed PTSD, the seed of which stems directly from our enslavement, and everything that came along with it—sadistic beatings/rapes/free labor in impossible conditions/family separations/the illegality of our education/jim crow/ETC. It manifests as physical and psychological illnesses. On top of that, we exist within systems/laws of racism (schools/“friends/EVERYFUCKINGBODY) where [speaking about]our experiences within this country [and world] is denied and seeks to shame and scold us into silence. Our silence, our and everyone else’s denial of what has happened to us, and what is not happening for us—the dismantlement of systemic racism and an end to this country’s denial and silence in the face of our past and present realities, addressing and healing the PTSD that we live with, IS WHAT IS KILLING US. All of this manifests as physical and psychological illnesses (societal/economic/environmental stressors). IN ADDITION, we are also dying disproportionately from coronavirus because our access to healthcare is oftentimes not equal to the quality healthcare that exists for others in this country (also due to systemic racism).
