A Poem For Irene (Cara)
My life—
Long & short
Hard & full; like walking in snow, barefoot, for too long
Frozen toes on a Star.
Yearning for the lights that were always pulling me—
Insistent, relentless beckoning
Dancing as fast as I could; only joyfully,
Uninhibited, I could feel the Spirit Wind, a whimsical
Feeling; free-like, light & easy & deep downnn, in me, too
Magnificent & bold? Was that me?
Wolves are circling & walls are closing in,
Help me.
My anxious, ancient heart beats a syncopated, BOOM.
BOOM. BOOM. My mind
Cannot remember my radiance.
Fade into gold. I am, gold. That’s me! Faaaaade
No more. I am free. My name is Irene & now, I am
More than me. I am free. I Am now, the
God that always lived—in me!
