The Consultation

At a recent consultation with new clients, whom I'll be petsitting for during NYE, the husband said to me, "So I'm assuming you'll be going out on a date for New Year's Eve, so just make sure......" They gave instructions on something; and then the wife asked, "So what are your date plans usually on New Year's Eve and how late do you expect to be out??"

Me: Well, I'm not sure what my plans will be as of yet on New Year's Eve... Last year I didn't go out, but hey, one can only hope! (I laughed. They laughed.) Anything's possible.. In any case, I assure you, my concern will be the care of your babies. (I smiled warmly and reassuringly. They were reassured.)"
